A small community of Discalced Carmelite friars living their lives in allegiance to Jesus Christ, the Priory offers an extensive program including retreats, both preached and individually guided, Carmelite days of reflection and Carmelite prayer evenings.

Eucharist: Monday to Friday 9:30 am. Saturday and Sunday12:00 noon.

Carmelite Days: Reflecting on aspects of the Carmelite Heritage. Wednesdays 10:30 am to 4 pm.

Carmelite Prayer Evenings: Monday evenings on 24th April, 22nd May, 26th June, 31st July, 11th September & 2nd October from 7:15p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Preached Retreats: Conducted in an atmosphere of silence, each of these weekends begins with a meal at 6.30pm on Friday evening and ends on Sunday after lunch. There will be at least four talks and the opportunity to join the resident Carmelite Community for Eucharist and Prayer. There will also be time for personal prayer, reflection, reading and rest.

Individually Guided Retreats: Conducted in an atmosphere of silence. Retreatants meet daily with their director. There is also the opportunity to join the Carmelite Community for Eucharist and Prayer.


Private Retreats: You are very welcome to come to the priory for a private retreat when space is available. Local people are welcome to attend our retreats on a non-residential basis but meals can only be provided for those who are resident. We try to cater for vegetarian and diabetic diets but we are not in a position to cater for more complex special diets.
