“No one ever took God for his friend that was not amply rewarded; for mental prayer is, in my opinion, nothing else but being on terms of friendship with God, frequently conversing alone with Him, who, we know, loves us.”
St Teresa of Avila

The Teresian Prayer Group

The Teresian Prayer Group meets once a month in the Carmelite Priory, 41 Kensington Church Street, London W8 4BB.  The aim of the Group is for its members to grow in prayer, following the teachings of St Teresa of Avila. Membership of the Group is free and anyone can join.

The monthly meetings typically have a distinguished Carmelite speaker, a time of quiet prayer and small group discussion,  In 2019/20 they will be on a Thursday evening at 6.30 for 6.45 pm to 8.15 pm.

The last three meetings of the 2019/20 season will take place on:
  • 5 March 2020, with a talk by Bill Gammon, “Your name is perfume poured out,” Praying with Sacred Scripture,
  • 2 April 2020, with a talk on The Prayer of Quiet, by Annette Goulden, OCDS,
  • 23 April 2020, with a talk on The Prayer of Union, by Fr Matt Blake, OCD.
